Kris Harding

A/R & Certification Specialist

I’m Kristen Harding, and I’ve been at CRC since 2000.    After being a stay-at-home mom for 20 years, I joined CRC as a part-time employee in production and have worked in production, certifications, calendar and scheduling, and now assisting with accounts receivable.   I’ve had the privilege of watching CRC grow from four employees in one office with just a handful of reporter clients to what it is today – multiple offices around the country and many more remarkable employees and amazing reporters.
Born and raised  in western New York in a little village, graduated from Tufts University in Boston with a B.A. in English in 1968.    My first real job was in the public relations department for Rochester Blue Cross Blue Shield focusing on publications.   I then worked at Duke University heading up the Typing Bureau back in the days before computers and word processors and copiers, for that matter!  – my job was to facilitate students and grad students with typing their papers,  theses and dissertations (on typewriters with carbon copies).   My husband finished grad school and we moved to New Orleans where I worked for four ambitious young attorneys as one of their legal secretaries in a busy exciting practice – the highlight of my time there  was the introduction of the correcting Selectric typewriter!    Our next move was overseas where I lived in  Tunisia and Malta while my husband worked in Libya and Abu Dhabi as an exploration geologist in the desert oil fields.  We eventually moved to Tulsa  with our growing family, then  to Denver, then to Tyler, Texas and finally to Houston, moving wherever the oil patch took us.    My husband John is now retired.   Our daughter and two sons are all grown up now and busy with their lives around the country.   We have two beautiful grandchildren, Elliot and Grace, who live in the New York City area,  and we have a black Lab Scotty who rules our lives (in a good way).
The highlight of my life outside work, besides the rare time I get to spend with my grandchildren, is visiting our summer cottage in the Finger Lakes in New York.   2013 is our  family’s 100th year at the lake – it’s  a very special place for our extended family and friends.

In spare time I enjoy reading, gardening and various needle arts – embroidery, knitting, sewing – and keeping up with friends around the world.   I enjoy going to the movies, listening to music both recorded and live, and I’m a hoarder of antiques.
